About him
I've been working full time for 48 years (government, industry, academia). Now I'm thinking maybe it’s time to retire, but I don't know how to do it, I've never retired before. Is there someone who can help me ?
I like chatting to people, listening, eating, drinking. Cycling, every day if the weather’s OK. Walking in the countryside, woods, forests. Cooking for friends. Going to the cinema. Snuggling up on the sofa to watch a good film or documentary. Listening to Radio 4. Trying to play flamenco guitar - would love to play duets.
Occasionally I hike up a mountain. Visit an art gallery. See a play. Do some gardening, especially things that help wildlife, and volunteering for same. Go sailing, always in other people’s boats up to now, but I have a skipper’s certificate and I’m wondering if it’s worth getting my own boat. It would need two people to sail it.
Once I travelled all over the world but I've given up long-haul now. When there’s time and I have a companion I’d like to see much more of Britain and Ireland, and Europe, maybe by train and bike.
