About him
I am a fairly simple creature. I like birds - feeding them, watching them, listening to them. I like animals in general. I like reading. I like learning about new things. I like walking. I enjoy collecting random things that many people would probably consider junk, simply because I have an interest in interesting things in general. I enjoy good food, and I like being able to cook good healthy food from simple ingredients - much of which I either forage or hunt for, and am now trying to grow as well. I'm not keen on eating out - unless it's somewhere where I am going to be able to try something well made and new to me. I try and keep in shape, and feel I'm doing reasonably well for my age - though I've never been in a gym in my life. I do enjoy travel, though haven't done as much in recent years. I'd like to do more travel - and by that I don't mean sitting on a beach somewhere. I like art (not modern..) and architecture - particularly finding a good church (a favourite recent find was the Norman crypt at Lastingham, for example).
I'm a bit of a Luddite. I'm fairly happy living in the past, and you certainly won't see me waving a watch to pay for my groceries. I'm very sceptical of social media and other such things in general.
I am fairly taciturn and it probably takes a while to get to know me - whether it's worth doing so is up to you.

Not complicated: somebody honest, decent, intelligent, adventurous. Somebody who enjoys good food. Somebody who enjoys learning about and experiencing new things. Somebody who appreciates being out in nature: the simple things like walking, and sitting on a hillside enjoying a picnic, or sometimes camping on the cliffs next to a dramatic medieval castle. Somebody who isn't glued to their phone, and social media, and can give people and their surroundings their full attention.
